September 16th & 17th Work Party News

There was a work party on the weekend of September 16th and 17th. I will try to get a list of what was worked on.

(UPDATE 9/23/06) I got an email from Robert S. saying that all the work that was done during the work party on the on September 16th & 17th has washed away. See the September 2006 Supplemental meeting page.

September 9th meeting

Attendance: 26 Members

Meeting called to order and opened by Shawn (President), at 11am.

Opening remarks:

-George Coler’s (Trustee) wife who is sick and in the hospital. We wish her to get well soon!

-Lawn mower is gone.

-One more meeting at the property (October meeting), then meetings will be at the fire hall until spring.

-Talked about next springs agenda and some new ideas.

Minutes of last meeting were read and approved.

Vice President reported: That it may be possible to get claims in the Allegheny National Forest in the near future. Then, if passed, it might be possible that the State Parks may follow.

Treasurers Report: Report was read and approved.

Members:

-Voted and passed to have a Work Party on 9-16-06 starting at 11am.

-2 tickets for each member that attended to be used at Christmas Party drawing.
-Food and beverages will be provided.

-Voted and passed to allow venders at October Meeting/Outing.

-Chili and hot dog cook off.
-Members are asked to bring a side dish.

-Discuss about putting up a gutter for pavilion to help stop roof from rotting.

-Discuss about getting a new style of hats.

-Discuss about trailer needing inspected and new plates.

-Discuss about committees needed for October Outing and a Maintenance committee.

            -Outing committee members:

-Discussed possible changing combination of lock monthly.

-Discussed people damming up top part of creek to sluice is causing water to wash out part of the pavilion side of the bank during flooding. When you are done sluicing- break up your damn to help prevent this from happening.

-Discuss gold in N.C.

-Tim K. talked about how a backhoe broke down near a creek, for work, and DEP fined company $300. Also, confirmed from DEP, that panning and sluicing is allowed in PA.

Chili Contest!

For the the October meeting/outing the club will have a chili contest. Anyone that wants to enter- just bring the best chili that they can make. A gold nugget will be the prize. All other members, please bring a side dish.

Meeting was adjourned and lunch and drawing followed
