The Allegheny Chapter meetings start around 11:00AM on the second Saturday of each month near Greenville, PA. Which is located in Mercer county. Google directions to property. When attending please bring something for the pot-luck lunch. Guests are always welcome at the meetings. Winter meetings (generally November through March) are held at the West Salem Fire Hall on Route 358 west of Greenville. Summer Meetings are held at the Booth Run property on South Barry Road. South Barry Road (Twp Hwy 320) is off of Route 358 about a mile from the Ohio border. When driving down 358 be on the look out for the turn into the road that leads to the property the street sign is very small.
Note: This photo was taken at the stop sign leaving the South Barry road. When driving down on 358 you could pass this marker very easily. If coming from Ohio (about a mile from the border) it will be on your right side, from Greenville (about three maybe four miles from the town) on your left. But once you get on the S. Barry road follow it for about a mile till you get to this sign:
Specifics about the property Please note that this is NOT a GPAA claim. This is private property. The property is only open to public and Non Allegheny Chapter members, during chapter meetings only. Active Allegheny Chapter members receive a property pass that allows them use of the property any time that they wish. Access: It's next to a road so no problem with cars and pop-up campers. Markers of the property: The bridge and about 100 feet down from the pavilion. Type of equipment used: Panning and Sluice Box. Conditions: No drinking water and no electricity but we do have a port a potty to use during meetings. Name of the Creek: Booth Run. For an over view of how the creek looks, click here. Note: There is a second property that has been located for us to work. Not much known about it yet, here is the link to the page about it. But still this is the main property that we will be working all the time.
