Here's a video of a Blue Bowl in action. Please note the video doesn't have any sound it is version 1.0.
Equipment needed
How to use a Blue Bowl A) Items Needed
B) How to setup Place the 18 gallon tub on a flat level surface. The 3.5 gallon bucket inside with the blue bowl on the top of that. Then attach the water pump to the bowl. Put the pump in inside the tub and place it so that it will not get clogged with any thing. Now what we want is a very level bowl this is a must for the proper working of the blue bowl. For fine tuning the levelness of the bowl you can use the "Leveler Attachments" usually purchased separately. Also you may want to pick up a level to make sure the bowl is in fact level or use the water in the blue bowl.
C) Operating Instructions 1) Screen your concentrates out. This is a must. Since the bowl will move lighter material out of the bowl leaving the heaver, same size, material in the bowl (your gold). 2) Add one cup of concentrates along the inside outer edge of the bowl. Make sure it doesn't backup into the water intake valve so it doesn't affect your water pump. 3) Open the water control valve. Let the water level reach the top of the bowl and then cut back on the water flow so that it doesn't go over the edge. 4) Water flow in the bowl. For 30 mesh screen concentrates let the water get to about the top of the bowl, 50 mesh about 1/4" from the top and for 100 mesh about a half an inch from the top. If you see any gold wash over the inner cone cut back on the water flow. Don't worry about the gold it will fall into the bucket underneath so you can go though your concentrates again later to get it. 5) When you see the non gold material left left the bowl and you want to clean it out do the following. Shut off the water flow, remove the gold with the sniffer bottle. D) Warnings / Suggestions 1) Never scratch up the surface of the bowl. I know we have read and been told with gold pans to scrape up the bottoms and such but this is different we need a free flowing non obstructive area for the concentrate to move around with and not pile up in sections. 2) The Bowl must be level. Other wise the vortex created will be unstable and not work correctly. 3) Before you use the Blue bowl. Wash out the bowl before you start using the bowl. What we want to do is remove any oil residue that may be on the bowl. So use some kind of mild dish detergent that is non abrasive, since we don't want to mark up the bowl in any way.
