Special Guest Speaker at the April meeting East Gold Prospectors They said they are not replacing the GPAA, but are separate from them. Basically the GPAA concentrates on the Western States and not a lot on the Eastern States, this is where the East Coast Prospectors come in. they want to concentrate on the east coast. Right now they have several properties in the east: 1 in New York, 2 or 3 in Virginia, 1 in York, Pa. Looking for places in Ohio. and also Looking around by our property to see if they can get a property around our chapter. Cost is 50$ a year to belong to there group. It is a family membership. Also they are talking to the main DEP manager for the state of PA, as to how they can simplify the Dredging Permitting process. Right now they have it in somewhat of the following: they are tying to get a Permit process that is 7 or 8 pages long, and per property not per dredge, and have to work around spawning season for the different fish and clams and such. This is currently an on going project with the DEP.
On thrusday March 8th 2008 Gold hit over $1000/oz!!!! Meeting Information for March 8th 2008 Sorry to say that the meeting was canceled because there was expected between 5 and 12 inches of snow that day. Next meeting is to be at the fire hall on April 12, 2008. Special guest for April meeting: Members from the newly formed "East Cost Prospectors" are expected and they will be talking about the new Club they formed. Special guest for April meeting: We were contacted by a freelance writer for a local newspaper, and she wanted to come out and see us working the creek and see about possibly doing a story on us. Also we will all find out about how things went at the two shows that the club did in February and March. Dredging Permit Breakdown Part 2 Sorry to say that the webmaster had more job related work piled up on him that he didn't have time to go though more of the dredging permit process. Although I have started a list broken down state by state what every state does when it comes to dredging. Example in California all you need to do is fill out a form and pay a few bucks to get a permit. Other Things If anyone has any good websites that they would like to share with everyone, email me them and I'll put them in the newsletter.
