August 11th meeting was held at the property with 80 members attending. This meeting was special in that it was election day for new officers for the coming season. Since the current officers didn't have any one running against them they retained there positions for the current year. The officers for the 2007-2008 season are: President: Sean M. , Vice President: Calvin H., Secretary: Chris, Treasure: Jim G. (in the photo they are in from left to right: Jim G, Chris, Calvin, and Sean.
We had a pleasant visit from State director of the GPAA - Joe "Butch" Doren his email is jrd@iqnetsys.net if anyone needs his email. He talked about various things, like trips to Alaska, if you do go on a trip there try to go for 2 weeks since there is so many things going on that if there are any bad days you have time still to see and do any activities. The map in the picture below is from Dean Ransom it depicts locations that people have found gold in PA. The markers are where at least two people on two different trips have found gold.
The July 28th 2007 work party built a shed.
Shed Photos by Carly. Gold Show in Carlisle was talked about. We will be having a booth, setup is Friday morning, lunch will be provided. Booth size is about 10'x10'. Calvin also says that if you show up for the Friday setup that you can "Dry" camp in the parking lot! This means no fire, water, no hookups of any kind, no bathroom, etc. See Calvin for more information on who to contact when you get to Carlisle and such. The Buckeye Chapter in Ohio is having there GOLD RUSH DAYS during the labor day weekend, like they have for the past 10 years! |
