Here are pictures from the 2007 May outing.

There were 63 people at the meeting. The meeting was held at the fire hall. Next meeting is scheduled to be at the main property.

Some things discussed.

There is a new location that Tim K. got permission for us to go to. There is not a lot of parking so it is recommended that if you want to go get a group of members and share a car to go there. Link to the second location. Please follow the rules exactly at this location.

Well it's official you can recreational dredge in PA! You have to get a permit, for the area you are going to go in. There is not a lot of information on it right now since the rules have just come out as of the end of March 2007. Tim K. and Calvin are looking into it for us to see the what's and how's and costs that are involved with this all.

GPAA & LDMA NEWS

From the April issue of the Gold Fever Prospecting Newsletter goldfeverprospecting.com

"GPAA and LDMA have been sold by the Outdoor channel.
According to several sources the GPAA & LDMA have been sold. Bad news? Not so
fast. Thankfully we have been able to confirm that Tom Massie (son of founder George Massie) has purchased the company so it will be staying in the Massie family. As many of you know Tom's brother Perry, is a senior management partner of the Outdoor Channel and I believe has no plans to leave. However, rumors have been circulating for awhile that the Outdoor Channel may be exploring a possible sale also, so divesting the prospecting membership aspect of the business may lead more credence to this."
More information regarding this sale can be found at goldfeverprospecting.com/news
GPAA can be contacted at goldprospectors.org
